In Final Fantasy XIV, second chance points are a system that allows players to re-attempt quests or dungeons they have failed before. They can also be used to revive fallen players.
Second Chance Points are a currency in Final Fantasy XIV that can be earned by completing quests. They can then be used to buy items from the Wondrous Tails vendor.
Second Chance points are part of the Wondrous Tails feature in Final Fantasy XIV, which is a weekly activity that encourages players to revisit previous content. Completing a dungeon alongside someone who hasn’t completed it yet will give you Second Chance points.
At this time, XIV contains a lot of material.
Veteran players are likely to have forgotten about half of the available dungeons and trials that aren’t included in regular Duty Roulette, and grinding the same old end-game dungeons may get tedious.
Wondrous Tails is a game that allows you to shake up your daily routine by completing a randomized series of tasks to fill up a bingo card.
After you’ve finished your card, you may turn it in for a variety of prizes.
It gives experienced players a respite from the grind and may inspire more players to enter lower-level dungeons.
To grasp the significance of Second Chance points, we’ll go through the basics of Wondrous Tails: where to begin, how to finish it, and what you get in return.
What Is the Best Way to Begin Wondrous Tails?
You must be at least level 60 and have finished a good portion of the Heavensward post patches to see Khloe Aliapoh in Idyllshire.
Khloe will give you a Wondrous Tails notebook and ask you to write down your experiences in it.

You’ll be given a random list of sixteen tasks to do each week, but you only need to finish nine of them to turn in the diary.
A seal is added to the diary after a task is completed.
You have four lines of four dots to complete, and your objective is to fill as many of them as possible.
They count in three different ways: horizontally, vertically, and diagonally.
There’s no assurance you’ll fill up the grid in the best possible manner since the seals are put randomly once each task is completed.
The Wondrous Tails activity will restart at 1:00 a.m. on Tuesday, but you’ll have the rest of the week to submit your diary.
If you hand it in after the reset, Khloe will give you the current diary right away.
So, how do Second Chance Points fit into the picture?
So you want to receive the greatest weekly rewards? (naturally).
However, because to the unpredictable nature of the Wondrous Tails grid, you may not be able to complete three lines every week.
When it comes to finishing your weekly diary, Second Chance points offer you a little more leeway.
When you accomplish a duty in which at least one member gets the first-time completion incentive, you’ll earn them.
You may have a total of nine Second Chance points at a time, which you can use to buy Retries or Shuffles to help you finish your diary.
Retries cost one Second Chance point and allow you to repeat a duty from a previous week’s diary for another seal.
So, if you have a really difficult week ahead of you, you can essentially utilize a Retry to play the same dungeon several times for seals.
Retries may make finishing your journal much simpler — Wondrous Tails tasks like raids from the Crystal Tower or Rabanastre might occur, and depending on your job, they can be a headache to queue for.
Shuffles are the other way to spend Second Chance points.
When you have seven seals, you may use a Shuffle to rearrange them into an optimal position for two points.
When you use a Shuffle at the appropriate moment, you just need to be fortunate with your final two seals to earn a three-line prize — the maximum number of completed lines imaginable.

What Do I Get When I Finish Wondrous Tales?
The number of lines you’ve finished will determine the potential prizes. However, Khloe will always offer you a prize just for turning in the diary, so it’s never a waste of time.
There are two distinct versions of Wondrous Tails – when the diary is picked up, additional prizes are added.
You’ll get approximately half a bar of experience (so don’t hand it in on a level capped character) and a choice of the following prizes for collecting nine seals:
- Map of Zonureskin that has seen better days
- 1 piece of platinum from Allagan (Worth 10,000 gil)
- Poetic Tomestones: 500
- 100 Phantasmagoria Tomestones (Completed at level 80)
Khloe may also give you Materia as a possible prize, but I believe that all of the other choices are much more helpful (Materia can just be purchased for gil).
The following prizes will be available for finishing one line:
- Dress-up Thancred, dress-up Estinien, dress-up Khloe (minions)
- Gold MGP Card (Worth 30,000 Manderville Gold Saucer Points)
- 50 Allegory Tomestones
- Bronze Certificate of Commendation for Khloe
In this tier, the Gold Card is definitely worth it – the Gold Saucer has some incredible special prizes, and 30K is a significant amount of time saved!
The following prizes will be available after finishing two lines:
- Stuffed Khloe (minion), Wind-up Zhloe (furniture)
- 2 Platinum MGP Cards (Worth 100,000 Gold Saucer Points in total)
- 500 Phantasmagoria Tomestones
- Khloe’s Silver Commendation Certificate
The following prizes will be available for finishing three lines (the maximum):
- 3 Silver Certificates of Commendation from Khloe Kardashian
- Khloe’s Gold Commendation Certificate
- MGP Platinum Cards (20x) (Worth one million Gold Saucer points, which saves potentially weeks of gaming time)
Certificates of Commendation may be exchanged for different amounts of Materia.
However, as you can see from the variety of prizes available, there’s something for everyone.
So, no matter how you play FFXIV, sometimes finishing Wondrous Tails is definitely worth your time.
