This will be one of the first gaming events to return to in-person since the outbreak, thus there will most likely be some limitations in place for the participants’ protection. It will be broadcast live on the internet. Geoff Keighley, the show’s host, is likely to return.

Last year’s event was virtual and lasted almost three hours and fifteen minutes. Christopher Nolan, Gal Gadot, Tom Holland, Brie Larson, Reggie Fils-Aime, The Muppets, Stephen A. Smith, Nolan North, Troy Baker, and others made cameo cameos. Eddie Vedder and the London Philharmonic, led by Lorne Balfe, also gave live performances. In comparison to other candidates such as Doom Eternal, Ghost of Tsushima, and Final Fantasy VII Remake, The Last of Us Part 2 won a high amount of prizes. The guests and nominations for this year are yet to be revealed.
