Battlefield 2042 is the newest installment of the popular first-person shooter series. It was released in October 2018 and has been met with mixed reviews from both fans and critics. The game’s visuals are considered to be worse than BF1 and play worse than BF4, which may have contributed to its poor sales.
Battlefield 2042, the newest installment in the Battlefield franchise, was released on November 20th. The game looks worse than BF1 and plays worse than BF4.
Not only is the gameplay dynamic (not an adjective; the gameplay dynamic/flow) unlike other Battlefield game, which is terrible since it doesn’t function (admittedly this is one map and one that was theorized to have problems),
The game looks worse than Battlefield 1, which was released in 2016, and the weapon effects are smaller than in Battlefield 4. Except for the occasional weather events and how they affect combat and play choice, there is nothing about this game that breaks new ground or fits smoothly together in my view; everything seems scraped in hastily like a rust layer patchwork. While it’s true that the scaleup necessitates compromises, it doesn’t excuse poorer movement and gunplay compared to the 2013 version; I believe a significant delay until March is a must. Then go into the flesh and dramatically enhance it.
To be completely honest, I predicted this as soon as I saw the video and its odd visual style, and even more so when I watched bits of gameplay that were obviously removed as much as possible since they looked and felt awful. Even with a huge increase in personnel, it is obvious that real hands-on skill and enthusiasm have vanished after three years of growth. I didn’t like it right away, but I gave it a chance; the ‘bias’ isn’t without validity, and it has since been verified. Seeing phony producers feign praise for the game’s mediocrity while pinning the official Battlefield account’s comments on their videos just confirms my point of view. They’ll start whining after a year, when the bad nature can’t be concealed any longer. Alternatively, they’ll
Continue to lie and only offer genuine ideas if they may profit from them after the lying is no longer necessary.
The first time I played the Battlefield 1 beta, I was really blown away by the graphics and feel of the game; stepping on BF2042 was like jumping on an FTP game. BF1 would still blow me away even if updated for 2016 versus 2021, since despite its numerous flaws, it at least looks and plays unique and consistent. It is, without a doubt, low-cost.
I had the impression that I was playing Warzone with subpar mechanics. The skill is unquestionable. There isn’t any. It’s obvious that those who understand excellent, unique, and Battlefield design are no longer among us. Plus, the ping is so bad that the gunplay consistency is on level with a 2006 game, so I agree it may have influenced my impression of the game’s terrible gunplay flow, but I don’t recall this being an issue in any previous BF game, even on 200 ping servers. Keep in mind that although gameplay is important, both the visual design and gameplay are weak and do not flow in this game.
I can’t even be bothered to speak about the UI since it’s that bad from the start, particularly when hitting ESC. In terms of popularity, the BF3/4 kill log is almost a good meme. I’ve had firsthand experience with wealthy friends offering me a management position despite my lack of credentials at the time, and this game seems to be a result of that. We know that DICE/EA has issues with nepotism and cronyism, and that developers from 2016 and earlier have departed as a result. People who just seek a paycheck depart, while newcomers remain or are brought over.
Nothing is flawless, but there are far too many major flaws in the game’s core components. Battlefield used to be able to break new territory; today they are just breaking even.
The weather effects, especially the tornado, are the only item that breaks new ground in terms of physics and aesthetics. It’s incredible, and it alters the game’s rhythm. The effects crew is still one of the best in the business. They deserve applause.
